About the Journal of Organ Transplantation
The Journal of Organ Transplantation is a peer-reviewed, open access journal published by Open Access Pub. It has published research on the transplantation of human organs and tissues since 2017.
A transplant binds a donor, a recipient and the system that connects them, so it is studied by many disciplines at once. The journal exists to be the common ground where that work meets and can be read together.

WHAT THE EDITORS DO
Editors provide scholarly stewardship by overseeing peer review and upholding publication ethics. They assign reviewers, weigh the reviews against the manuscript, and take the decision.
Editors recuse themselves from decisions on their own submissions, which are handled independently.

REVIEW AND DECISIONS
How the journal decides
Every manuscript follows the same route, and the criteria are the same for every author.
HOW MANUSCRIPTS ARE ASSESSED
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
WHAT DECIDES THE OUTCOME
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
Decisions remain independent of fees, services, memberships and editorial or reviewing roles.

Reading and submitting
The journal welcomes submissions throughout the year from researchers, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams working across transplantation.
